Mayor Leslie Waters, City of Seminole;
Fifth Graders Coordinate Operation Military Matters
Two Seminole Elementary students, Graci Tubbs and Ava Spano, are the Co-Founders of Operation Military Matters, a military support organization based in the City of Seminole.
One of their drop-off boxes is at Seminole City Hall, where all sorts of items are packaged-up and sent to the troops overseas. Items such as tube socks, foot powder, hard candy, toothpaste, tooth brushes, games, toiletries, note cards, pens are of special interest to our military personnel.
Graci and Ava have not only been recognized by Seminole City Council, but also recently received a $200 grant from Royal Neighbors of America in recognition for
“making a difference” in the military community.
“I am so proud of Graci and Ava who work very diligently to collect items, to personally assemble boxes, and to mail these care packages to the troops.” said Mayor Leslie Waters. “Each USPS box costs $16.75 to mail, so any help citizens of Seminole can give to this patriotic project would be appreciated by all.”
To contact Graci and Ava please e-mail them at firstname.lastname@example.org; connect via Facebook at Facebook.com/operationmilitarymatters. Also, interested persons can drop off checks to City Hall payable to Operation Military Matters, or visit their GoFundMe.com/military matters account.
